The Mysterious Door A1.2

A thriller story by Anna Parker

Once upon a time, in a small town, there was a boy named Tim. Tim was twelve years old. He loved to explore. One day, he walked in the park. The sun was shining, and the birds were singing. Tim felt happy.

As he walked, he saw something strange. It was a door. The door was old and brown. It was in the middle of the park. There were no walls around it. Tim felt curious. "What is behind this door?" he thought.

Tim looked around. There were no people near the door. He walked closer. The door was closed. Tim tried to open it. It was locked. "I need to find a key," he said.

Tim went home. He told his sister, Lily, about the door. "Lily, I found a mysterious door in the park!" he said. Lily was interested. "Let's go back!" she replied.

The next day, Tim and Lily went to the park together. They searched for the key. They looked under benches and behind trees. They asked other kids, but no one knew about the door.

Then, they saw an old man. He was sitting on a bench. His white beard was long, and he had a kind smile. Tim and Lily walked to him. "Excuse me, sir. Do you know about the door in the park?" Tim asked.

The old man looked at them. "Ah, the door! Many people ask about it. It is a special door," he said.

"What is behind the door?" Lily asked.

The old man smiled again. "Only the brave can find out. You need to find the key. It is near the big tree," he said.

Tim and Lily ran to the big tree. The tree was tall and wide. They looked around the tree. After a few minutes, they saw something shiny in the grass. Tim picked it up. It was a key!

"We found the key!" Tim shouted.

They ran back to the mysterious door. Tim put the key in the lock. It turned with a click. The door opened slowly. Inside, it was dark. Tim and Lily were scared but excited. They held hands and stepped inside.

The room was small and empty. There was a table in the middle. On the table, there was a box. The box was beautiful with many colors. Tim opened the box. Inside, there were many small toys. They were very old but looked magical.

Lily gasped. "Look at these toys! They are amazing!" she said.

Tim picked up a toy car. It was red and shiny. "I want to take this one!" he said. Lily picked up a doll. It had a pretty dress. "I want this doll!" she said.

Suddenly, they heard a noise. It was a soft sound, like whispering. Tim and Lily looked at each other. "What is that?" Tim asked.

The whispering got louder. They felt scared. "Maybe we should go back," Lily said.

But Tim was curious. "No, let’s see what it is!" he said.

They moved closer to the sound. The toys on the table started to move. The doll smiled, and the car made a noise. Tim and Lily were amazed. "Are they alive?" Lily asked.

The doll spoke. "Thank you for finding us! We were waiting for you!"

Tim and Lily could not believe their ears.

The doll continued, "We are magical toys. You can take us home, but you must promise to play with us every day!"

Tim and Lily nodded. "We promise!" they said together.

They took the toys and left the mysterious room. They closed the door behind them. Outside, the sun was shining again. Tim and Lily felt happy and excited. They had a secret now. They had magical toys and a mysterious door.

From that day, Tim and Lily played with their toys every day. They had many adventures together. They were the best of friends with the magical toys. The end.
